New Equipment |

nOur
centre acquired a new
modern Cardiac
Defibrillator as part of
our patients’ safety
protocol measures. It is
an emergency life-saving
equipment, for use if
someone at our centre
suffers a cardiac
arrest.

nA
state-of-the-art
Ophthalmic UBM
(Ultrasound
Bio-Microscopy) machine
was installed at our
centre on 14th February.
This equipment allows
high-resolution imaging
of ocular anterior
segment abnormalities
and lesions. To the best
of our knowledge this is
the first UBM machine in
West Bengal.

Charitable Services |
|
-
nDoctors
and staff of our centre,
in association with
Bharat Sevasram Sangha,
conducted free screening
eye camps at remote
villages as well as
in-house. A total of 205
patients received free
consultation and advice.
Medicines were
distributed free of cost
and spectacles at basic
manufacturing costs were
distributed to many of
them. 14 needy patients
underwent
vision-restoring
surgeries at our centre,
completely free of cost.

Expert Consultant Visit |

Dr Srinivas K
Rao, expert on
Corneal &
External Eye
disorders, from
Chennai, visited
our centre on 21st &
22nd February.
He offered
expert advice to
50 patients and
performed
complex ocular
surgeries on 8
other patients.
In the evening
he delivered a
talk on “Dry
Eyes - an Indian
perspective”
to a group of
invited
ophthalmologists.

Our director Dr Amitava
Biswas attended
important sessions at
the All-India ophthalmic
Conference at Jaipur on
5th &
6th February.

Cipla Foresight
conducted a PAT
(Paramedics Awareness &
Training) course for all
paramedical staff at our
centre on 25th February.
Topics covered were
Operation Theatre
Management, Overview of
Ophthalmic Intruments
and Patient Counselling.
The course was
beneficial to all.
