During April 2001 - March 2002 the foundation performed a total of 403 ocular / extraocular operative procedures, of which 62 (15%) were totally free of charge,. This amounted to professional service charges of approximately Rs. 2,50,420/- (Rupees two lakhs fifty thousand four hundred twenty) only being waived for charitable
cause.

Of the 62 free eye operations, 35 (44%) were of patients from the lowest socio-economic status who could not even afford the nursing home charges and material costs, the amount having been totally sponsored by our foundation.
